Brian E. Kruk Memorial Fundraising Event 2024

Join us Saturday, May 11th at Big Star Wrigleyville and raise a glass (or two) in celebration of Kruk (Brian ). As some of you know, Brian sat on the board of Pilot Light, a Chicago based non-profit founded by some of the best and most beloved chefs in the city -- Matthias Merges, Jason Hammel, Paul Kahan, and Justin Large. Pilot Light's core mission is Food Education, two things that Kruk loved deeply. One way we decided to keep Brian's memory alive was through the founding of The Brian E. Kruk Memorial Fund which directly supports Pilot Light's Food Education Fellowship program. As a former teacher, we know he would be so proud to support the professional development of educators both in Chicago and across the country.

Over the past 2 years, with little awareness, the fund has raised over $50K - an amazing tribute to Brian. Now, we are hosting this event to raise awareness about the Memorial Fund and help Pilot Light grow their impact on teacher's lives. We are incredibly inspired and overwhelmed with gratitude for the support the fund has received so far and we're excited to continue to support Pilot Light in the future. 

This fund gives grief a purpose -- which, if you've ever experienced loss, you know how important this is for healing. At least it is for us. We hope you'll join us on May 11th: we can't wait to celebrate Brian's memory with you and support Pilot Light as well.
